PPM-Confirel Ready for the Francophonie Summit

With only a few weeks to go before the 20th Francophonie Summit, held for the first time in Cambodia in mid-November, the PPM-Confirel Group confirms that it is ready to take part in this major event. In a recent interview granted to Radio France Internationale, Dr Hay Ly Eang, Chairman and CEO of the Group, outlined his companies’ ambitions for this international gathering.

PPM and Confirel will take part in the Village de la Francophonie, where they will showcase more than twenty of their flagship products. For Dr Hay Ly Eang, this presence is meant to demonstrate both national expertise and the ability of the Kingdom’s companies to build partnerships across the French-speaking world.

“This is an excellent opportunity for PPM-Confirel, as we have long maintained economic cooperation ties with French-speaking countries,” Dr Hay Ly Eang told RFI.

Dr Hay Ly Eang also placed this participation within the historical continuity of Cambodia’s relations with the Francophonie. He recalled that the Kingdom has been part of this community from its very beginnings, under the impetus of King-Father Norodom Sihanouk.

He also mentioned the long-standing human and intellectual ties that bind Cambodia to several French-speaking African countries — a number of Cambodian intellectuals having in earlier times pursued their studies in universities across the continent.
